Chester Castle Open

Chester Castle is open to the public this weekend and hosting a variety of festival events.

Visit the 12th-century Agricola Tower and its first-floor chapel of St Mary de Castro, which contains some exceptionally fine wall paintings from about 1240. Climb the nearby stairs to the wall-walk, to appreciate the castle's position within the city and look down onto the City Walls.

On Saturday come along and join a glass painting activity.  On Sunday at 11:15 join a Morris Dance workshop, taking place in the area below the Castle, just off the City Walls.

Enter the Castle via the carpark in front of the castle buildings or from the City Walls, and up the steep steps to the Castle above. This is a free, drop in event.
