Chester Castle: Soldiers and Citizens

English Heritage are telling the stories of Chester Castle through the ages in this family friendly event.  

Meet Medieval Knights and Civil War Soldiers. Find out what life was like for Georgians & Jacobites. Chat with the First World War One Soldiers and the Home Guard. Watch demonstrations and displays. Dress up in armour or have a go at activities.

Visit the fascinating Agricola Tower to see the beautiful wall paintings or take in the views of Chester from the tower roof top. Why not spend some time in English Heritage’s fantastic second-hand bookshop located in the cells or enjoy a coffee in the courtyard.

This is a free, drop in event. Dogs welcome on leads.  Please note access to the Chapel is via a spiral staircase.
