About the event

This walk is now fully-booked.

Chester is a city of captivating controversies.

This walk will visit several landmarks within the city walls which represent controversy, contradiction and conflict. Savage violence accompanied some of these conflicts in times past but the landmarks left behind now adorn the city with its unique charm. They have become symbols of compromise either through innovation or creative irresolution. Chester’s controversies provide perspectives for understanding and perhaps even healing the divisions, and controversies of our current times.

Tickets are free of charge but due to limited numbers booking is essential.

Meet outside the steps of Town Hall. The walk is 1.5 miles long and ends at The Cross.
