About the event
From the medieval to the modern day – a celebration and re-creation of the Chester Minstrels Court. Featuring songs and music from the last 1000 years performed by some of Chester’s finest local folk and re-enactment musicians.
Performances times are:-
11.15am – 12.00pm The Time Bandits
12.00pm – 12.40pm – Fayre Play
12.50pm – 1.00pm - Minstrels Court procession and issue of musicians licences
1.00pm – 1.40pm - Maranella
1.40pm- 2.20pm - Kingfisher
This ancient tradition of licensing of musicians and entertainers, dating from 1204, is one of few historical re-enactments in the UK that takes place in its original setting.
