About the event

The walk will look at the remains of the industrial heritage in the canal side area . Following the building of the canal in the eighteenth century there was a concentration of industries alongside it. Some of the earlier riverside industry migrated across. Some aspects have been regenerated into modern developments. We will look at corn mills, warehouses, remains of the lead works and hydraulic engineering. The industry will be discussed in the context of canal transport.

Access: No steps but ground occasionally rough.

Meet on the towpath by the Lock Keeper public house.
