About the event
Clogs, bells, drums, garlands and squeezeboxes – it must be Chester City Morris Men! The side has been presenting traditional Cheshire morris dances to audiences in and around the city (and much further afield, too) for more than fifty years, and is rightly proud of keeping this unique entertainment alive and clogging. Witness how our forebears might have celebrated high days and holy days with the joyous stepping and gladsome music of the Piper’s Ash Reel Dance, the Miller Dance and the Chester Morris Dance, to name just a few gems from the CCMM collection.
Performance begins at 19.15 at the High Cross, then via Eastgate Street to the Albion Inn (for approximately 8.30pm).
Don’t miss the chance to try your hand (and feet) at learning a Heritage Festival morris dance at Chester Castle on Sunday 30 June from 11am. Chester City Morris Men look forward to your company - there’s no charge for taking part, and all are welcome!
