About the event

Please note that the walk at 5pm is now fully booked. A second event at 2pm can be booked here.

Join your experienced guide for a leisurely walk along the River Dee, learning about river habitats, wildlife and some of the problems facing the river. Your guide, Peter Powell is leading the walk on behalf of the Welsh Dee Trust. This is a slow paced walk as it involves regular stops to take a closer look at points of interest.

Tickets are free but due to limited numbers booking is essential.

Duration approx. 90 minutes. The walk will end at Chester Meadows. The distance is two miles.

The nearest parking is on Eaton Road. 

Please note that there are no public toilet facilities along the walking route. Public toilet facilities can be found across the river at The Groves (CH1 1SD) or in the Little Roodee car park (CH1 1SL), where a number of wheelchair accessible parking spaces are also located.

Walk suitable for 15+

Please note that the walk is suitable for participants with pushchairs and wheelchairs. People with specific mobility issues please contact The Chester Heritage Festival on info@chesterheritagefestival.co.uk for further details before booking to ensure that you can be accommodated.
